1 lb. a week

So it appears I’m easily cruising at 1 lb. per week.  When I first jumped on the scale this morning I was anticipating no-loss at all, possibly even a gain.  To see 1 lb come up was awesome, especially since I pretty much put little to no effort into a diet at all.

So far I am just making slightly better choices and it’s paying off a slight bit.  Imagine what I could do if I just cracked down?  I don’t know if I want to do that.  It would be great to lose all that weight at once, but I’ve done that in the past and just put it right back on.  Maybe going at a snails pace will actually be beneficial.

1 lb. a week is just dandy.  2 lbs. a week would be nice though.

Annoyed by another fatty

As I have said I just came home from a trip.  I shouldn’t post this, but hey, I’m still a little perturbed.

I had issues with the small seat on a particular plane, so when getting my tickets this morning I made sure to upgrade my seat to one with more room.  It cost more money, sure, but I didn’t want to be a bother to anyone else that was assigned to sit next to me and I wanted to be comfortable as well (or at least as comfortable as you can be without a first class ticket!).

Getting on the plane I made my way to my assigned seat.  The seat I bought only had 2 chairs in the row (all the other rows had 3) and it was missing one on the other side of me where the emergency exit was.  I found it and then I was a little upset.  There, in the seat next to me, was a very large man.  Now I’m a big guy, so I can sympathize, but this guy was quite a bit larger than me.  I looked at my seat, or at least what was still visible and not hiding under his other ass cheek.

I know I’m a big guy, which is why I upgraded, but it just amazed me that he didn’t buy another seat.  If I was as large as he is, I sure would have.  I pointed with a nice smile and said “that’s my seat.”  He got up and moved and then we squeezed in.

I spent the next several hours pinned between the unmovable arm rest on my left and his flab taking over my seat.  I actually had to throw my legs over my arm rest just to physically be in my seat.  I couldn’t even put the arm rest down between us so I could plug in my headsets and listen to what was on the tv’s.  He never said one thing, never apologized for the inconvenience…nothing.  All that kept going through my mind was that ‘I paid for this priveledge.’

I’m trying not to be mean, but the whole situation just sucked and I’m pretty sure he knew he wouldn’t fit (I mean really…how could you not).  It’s just fucking rude.  Why don’t airlines require that people that large (hell include me too if you have too) buy another seat?  Sure it’s potentially insulting to the passenger, but they need to deal with the fact they won’t fit in the small seats.

Another one bites the dust

Another pound down even though I didn’t weigh in on time and just finished lunch…so it was probably more than that.

Some of my success came from my trip.  I was stuck in a hotel and really didn’t have much choice in the matter.  There was no going out or late night snacks, which has been one of my big issues.

I really think I have my eatting under control now.  It doesn’t take much to get that full feeling anymore so my stomach must be shrinking or at least getting used to the fact that i’m not going to put more than a certain amount in it at meal time.

I still need to work on getting excercise though.  My whole trip was spent on planes or in cars sitting on my ass.  I’ll have to work on that this week.  Imagine how much more I could accomplish!
